On Wednesday a fast-moving wildfire struck the heart of Los Angeles, California. The fire has caused massive evacuations and burned more than 180,000 acres of land. The fire has raged out of control across Southern California and has consumed houses in Bel-Air neighborhood. At least 4 homes have burned down in the hills of Bel-Air, where celebrities and millionaires reside peacefully in their villas. Usually the fire season peaks in October in California, but officials say climate change has contributed to more fires occurring later in the year. By Wednesday evening, the raging fire in Bel-Air consumed at least 475 acres of land and several structures. It’s been confirmed that more than 30o homes, businesses, and other buildings were destroyed. Hundreds of schools have been closed for the remainder of the week due to the blaze and more than 1,700 firefighters are still fighting the fire. Max Gonzales had this to say about the fires, “It is devastating. I have a lot of family in California and this breaks my heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.”  Lucas Mccarthy said, “Shoutout to all of the firefighters and good samaritans who stepped in to save lives.” If you want to donate to the victims of the Southern California wildfires you can go directly through Google or The Red Cross.
