The Garnets look to pick up where they left off last year vs. a rubbish Ardsley squad. After losing Junior Sean Traynor to FC Westchester, Coach Ernest Harmon and the Garnets are going to look to some younger talent to fill the void on the right side of the field. Along with the sharp shooting Traynor the Garnets lost a number of important seniors. When asked about the expectations for the squad, senior captain Carl Friedrich said “We have a young and hungry group of guys this year, we definitely have a legit shot at bringing home the section title.”  Friedrich also goes on to talk about the chemistry of this team, he says “Although we haven’t had much time with one another we all just click. it should be a fun and interesting year.”

In the Pre-Season MSG Varsity Section 1 class A rankings, Vince Mercogliano has the Garnets ranked as the 7th best team in the section. When ask about the projection, junior Johnny Cronin said “Its complete disrespect,  we are out here to prove ourselves. This just gives more motivation to succeed this year.”

Second year head coach Ernest Harmon looks to establish himself as a successful coach in section 1.  Junior Sean Traynor’s remarks  when asked about the head coach were “His knowledge of the game is like no other. I learned so much from him last year that has turned me into such a better player.”

Help support the Garnets by coming out to there home games down at the Rye High School Turf as they seek to capture the section title.
