Sunday, December 22, at the Armory in Washington Heights, the winter track and field team competed against Yonkers, Ardsley, Harrison, Byram Hills, and Pelham in the Division 2C league meet. The Rye boys took home second place in the league while the girls finished in third.

Many members of the track team scored points by coming in 1st, through 6th place. Here are some track members who scored points for the team: Marek Nowak won 1st in the 3200 m, Clara Gaso won 3rd in the 1500 m race walk,  Natalie Weiner won 1st in the 3000 m, Emma Smith won 4th in the 3000 m, Mark Willis won 1st in the 1000 m, Elena Perez-Segnini won 1st in the 1000 m, Anders Jenson won 3rd in the 600 m, Catherine Bird won 3rd in the 600 m, Liz Hudson won 4th in the 55 m hurdles, along with many other team members.  Sophomore, Mary Slattery said, “I am really proud of the team. Everyone did a great job and scored a lot of points for Rye.”
