Billie Eilish won 5 Grammys, but so did her brother

At the 62nd GRAMMY Awards, Billie Eilish became the youngest&second of all time to win the four major GRAMMY categories in one night: song of the year, record of the year, album of the year and best new artist.  She topped off the list also winning best pop vocal album.

There is no doubt this was an incredibly impressive night for her, however, many are unaware of the extreme level of involvement her brother, Finneas, has on all of her music.  He was included in three of her wins- song of the year, record of the year and album of the year- as well as taking home producer of the year and best-engineered album on his own.

A few weeks ago, Eilish participated in James Corden’s youtube series “Carpool Karaoke”, in which they made a stop at her childhood home(where she still lives), and she continued to describe that up until a few months ago she and Finneas both lived at home, wrote, recorded, and produced all of their music from their own home.  Many fans were surprised to discover that her brother was such a big part of her music.  He has his own solo albums, but obviously they are not nearly as popular as his sisters’.

I think it also came as a shock that Billie was so family-oriented, as her sad and angry music and persona would suggest otherwise.  She’s very much still a kid, just turning 18 last month, although it’s hard to remember that sometimes with her high level of success and developed personality.  Her level of fame is pretty much unimaginable at that age, as if she was still in school, she probably wouldn’t have even graduated high-school yet.

Finneas & Billie Eilish’s GRAMMY success was just another step on their quick and intense rise to fame, and I don’t think either of them are going anywhere soon.
