Henry Friedrich – Athlete of the Week, Boys Baseball

This weeks athlete of the week is senior Henry Friedrich for the boys’ varsity baseball team. Henry doesn’t partake in any other sports, due to his devotion and love for baseball. Recently, Henry was 6-9 hitting. On the season, he is currently 20-41 and his batting average is an astonishing .488. Furthermore his on-base percentage is .562.

During a recent tournament in Port Chester, he was awarded, all-tournament team. His hard work and dedication to the game throughout his high school career have been showing off this season more so than any other. He has helped his team be undefeated at home, in being 7-0. His talent has been showing as the team has had a booming start to their season, in winning 73 percent of their games.

Henry has been an active honor roll student all throughout high school. Furthermore, he has been volunteering for the good for the community as much as he can. This has helped shape the team’s positive attitude for the season, in having a role model to look up to. When asked, teammate and companion Alex Noga stressed Henry’s work ethic. Stating it’s one of the best on the teams and helps provide energy throughout games and practices.

One of Henry’s favorite moments throughout the season is their annual trip to Florida. The trip upholds games and events to bring the team together. It helps set the tone for the season, in building the team’s chemistry. Henry going to continue his athletic career in college after the season, as he has signed to play baseball at Adelphi University.
