Athlete of the Week- Alexander Noga

The boys hockey captain Alexander Noga has been awarded Athlete of the Week. The hockey team won their first game against Brewster 8-3. Alex had a goal and 3 assists contributing to half the team goals! Alex has been on the varsity hockey team for four years and has been captain for two of those years. He was named all-league and all-section last season. Academically speaking, Alex is a National Merit semi-finalist.

Alex not only has extreme talents but has proven to be a great leader and role model for his teammates. His teammate Emmet Carroll commented, “Alex is a great teammate and a great man. He’s my role model and he inspires me everyday.” Alex’s effect on the people around him is undeniable.

On a more personal level Alex does not plan to play any serious sports in college, but is looking into playing club hockey if that becomes an option.

However, Alex’s talents are not limited to hockey. Alex also plays catcher for the varsity baseball team and will be co-captain this season.

Alex is overall a great athlete and a tremendous player. His coach Mr. Thomas speaks highly of him stating, “I would say that Alex is a tremendous leader for us, both on and off the ice.  He sets an example to our younger players of what is expected and plays at a high level for us on the ice.” Alex is one of the most influential people I have ever met and wish him the best of luck in the future.
