#5- Gavin Kenny’s 97 Yard Run against Harrison

Pinned inside his own 5 yard line after returning a punt; Gavin Kenny caught a screen and ties up his skates as he danced his way 97 yards for a Rye touchdown. He finished with 119 yards on the game.


#4- Amanda Latkany Sinks Game Winning Buzzer Beater

Freshman superstar Amanda Latkany sinks a game winning buzzer beater to beat Somers in the last second of the Section 1 Girls Basketball semi-finals at the Westchester County Center. This would ultimatly lead to the team making a far run into the state tournament.


#3- Every Girl On The Soccer Team Scoring a Goal

This may not sound too impressive, but when you realize the signifigance of all 24 girls scoring a goal its pretty amazing. Even both goalkeepers scored!


#2- Max Samberg Sinks Three Straight Free Throw’s To Beat Byram Hills

Max Samberg running up the court with 2.3 seconds left, and manages to heave up a 3 point attempt while being surrounded by Byram Hills superstar Ben Leff, unfortunately the shot did not go in.  But the ref had called a foul with 0.3 seconds on the game clock putting Samberg to the line for 3 shots while the Garnets were down by 3 points.  Samberg came in CLUTCH and knocked 3 free throws sending the heated rivalry to OT.  The Garnets ended up beating the Bobcats in Double OT!

The Rye Harrison football game has been considered one of the greatest sports rivalries in New York not just over the past few years, but over the past 87. Every year this game is extremely competitive but this year was different. The Garnets took the winning record for the first time this year by a score of 35-7; and with an overall series score of 43-42-3.
