It was just one of those days where everything went right. The Garnets needed to rebound in a very big way after losing three straight to very good opponents. They jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back. This was an offensive explosion from Rye who got goals from 11 different players. The “hardhat” for player of the game goes to Owen Hull for his 8 groundballs and 1 goal.

Rye really needed a big win to get their confidence back up for the playoffs. Rye had lost 3 of their last 4 to highly ranked opponents and needed to get back to their wining ways. Very tough defense, fearlessness shooting the ball, careful and calculated clears, and great movement off ball made this huge win possible. Rye’s offense was coming off a game against Iona Prep wherethey only scored 3 goals so to put up 18 against anyone is a very big accomplishment.

Billy Chabot said, “Overall this was a great team win. Our offense really came to play today.”

Goalie Emmet Carroll said, “Everyone was on today. It’s definitely nice to rebound in such a big way.”
