It’s May 8th and the AP exams have begun. Arguably the most stressful time of the year, APs are no 90-minute final; they are four hour-long events. The exams last for two weeks, beginning with AP Chem and ending with AP Latin. It’s a long haul. For sophomores, this will be their first experience as many of them are taking AP World or AP Euro. Some juniors and seniors are taking up to five APs and are about to face an extremely challenging journey. The first AP of the year was not a light one; the AP Chem exam began bright and early at 8:00 am Monday morning. Some students are lucky enough to have afternoon APs, starting at 12:00 instead. On the bright side, when taking an AP you do not have to attend class and once that AP is over you do not have to attend that class for a week. Although AP season can be overwhelming, it is a reminder that the final stretch of the year is upon us. Keep pushing through, remember everything will be okay and you are not defined by a single test letter, and most importantly, don’t forget to get some sleep. Here are some opinions on the upcoming AP exams from fellow students:

“APs aren’t really too bad, and they mean that summer is coming soon!”

“I’m done.”

“Wait–what class is this.”

“I’m excited because we get to miss the whole day and then miss class for a week!”

“APs suck and they cause people to get wrinkles and stress out.”

Clearly, it’s a crazy time of year.
