Ever since his sudden death in 2014, the Harrison and Rye Baseball teams have come together to play a game in Andrew Gurgitano’s memory.

The game is played at Silver Lake Park in West Harrison where Andrew’s memorial stands. The day starts with the two teams being announced followed by the scholarship award which is given to one player from Harrison and one player from Rye. Then a priest leads those in attendance in a prayer.

The game then gets kicked off with Andrew’s little sister throwing out the first pitch.

In this years game, Rye beat Harrison by the score of 4-1 where sophomore Sean Thompson shined pitching 6.2 scoreless innings and only coming out of the game due to the pitch count rules.
