The New York Giants have started a rebuilding process and are currently under a complete overhaul of the team. Dave Gettleman is doing everything necessary for the revamp of the 2018 Giants by cutting, trading, and signing new players. The Giants need to make some changes to the roster after the horrible 3-13 season in 2017.

On Thursday, March 22 The New York Giants traded defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and a 2018 fourth-round pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for third- and fourth-round picks in 2018. Jason Pierre-Paul, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, had 68 tackles, 8 sacks and 2 forced fumbles for the Giants in 2017 after signing a four-year, $62 million deal last offseason. This was a shock to everyone, even JPP himself, because of all the commitment and dedication he gave to the New York Giants.

The trade leaves $15 million in dead money on New York’s salary cap, clearing $2.5 million off the cap this season, according to Spotac. Senior Ben Grigg, a huge big blue fan said, “I’m happy we received the money from the payroll.” Other NYG fans expressed their sadness over JPP’s departure. Davis Ross, a Giants season ticket holder said, “Now that JPP was traded, I will NOT  tell my Dad to purchase 2018 season tickets.” On Friday March 23,  JPP fought back tears after recounting the firework incident in 2015 that left him with and amputated index finger that almost ended his NFL career. However, JPP was able to overcome his injury and said, “Sorry, I get emotional when I talk about my injury. Sorry,” removing his glasses and wiping his eyes. “My injury — what I learned from my injury was that I’m unstoppable, man. I thank my dad for that because my dad, he’s been blind for 29 years, and he never complained, not once. From that, I know I’m unstoppable. It’s going to take a helluva lot for me to get off that damn field … sorry for cussing. So basically that’s what it is.” It’s evident JPP didn’t let his injury define him or his career and he will be missed by all Giant fans.
