Billy Chabot is a junior at Rye and is the athlete of the week this week. Chabot plays football in the Fall and Lacrosse in the Spring. He is the epitome of a beast at 6 feet 180 pounds. Chabot is committed to play lacrosse at Colgate University part of the class of 2022. He is commonly known as “POTS.” In other words, “product of the system.”
He has played 6 games so far this Spring and has 13 goals and 3 assists. His best game was either versus Pelham when he managed to rip 4 goals in the back of the net or versus Somers when he had 3 goals and 1 assist.
His athleticism and ability to snipe top corner on the run makes him a top player in the section.
Ryan Kirkpatrick had this to say about his teammate, “Chabot is able to turn nothing into something just because of his high lacrosse IQ.”
A middie on the lacrosse team, Will Hynson, said “We can always turn to Billy to make big plays in the big moments of a close game.”
Rye is playing against Iona today at 4:30. Let’s see what POTS does today.
