Although it wasn’t the smoothest game, the Wizards took a 2-0 lead over the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the NBA playoffs. In a physical and foul filled game both teams played close until the 4th quarter when Bradley Beal took off, dropping 16 points in the back end of the 4th quarter. Although Beal came on in the 4th, John Wall kept the Wizards in the game for the first 3 quarters, dropping 32 points in just 39 minutes on the court. Wall also kept the Wizards D in stellar condition, holding back the explosive Hawk offense. The Wizards look to take a 3-0 lead on Friday, and Wizard fans are hopeful this could be the season they have been waiting for. Junior Eddie Collins said “I’d like to see the Wizards win, they deserve to at least make a run.” The Wizards haven’t won an NBA Final since 1978, leaving fans hungry to lift another banner in D.C, and basketball fans will wait to see if this could be the year of a Cinderella story.
