Charley Hoffman was playing a different golf course than the rest of the field Thursday. The 10 year PGA tour veteran shot a 7 under 65, 5 better then William McGirt’s 70. The windy conditions on Thursday were brutal for most of the field but Hoffman wasn’t phased. Charlie Hoffman bogeyed the difficult third hole at Augusta National but would go birdie-bogey-birdie-par-birdie-birdie and finished with a 2 under 34 on the front. On the back nine, Hoffman made a birdie on 13 with an 11-foot putt and followed it with another 22 foot birdie on 14, and third from 24 feet on 15. On 16 and 17 he hit approach shots to two and three feet respectively, and rolled in both putts, making it four straight birdies. It was an incredible day from Hoffman and he will look to keep the lead today.
