Students in Ms. Margot Redmond’s Digital Photography classes utilized Adobe Photoshop tools and internet research to create a design and marketing project centered around popular shoe brands. The images were built by focusing on using selection tools to seamlessly integrate images. Jena Yi said of the experience, “I liked learning about the different tools in Photoshop such as the magic wand and the quick selection.”
Similarly, Christina Nieves said, “I liked it because I learned how to use Photoshop more deeply, I also got to be creative. I’ve never thought of making my own Ad, so it was a new and fun experience. My biggest challenge was to be able to keep up with the layers and it took a while to figure out how to use each tool and then layer each picture on top of each other.”
Each class section focused on a specific brand in groups. Freshmen Gabby Beechert said, “I liked this project because it was very interesting to see how we were able to bring our ideas together and make a successful ad. It was very nice to see how the final project was able to come together in the end.”
“I liked working on this project because learning how advertisements work is beneficial, working in groups was fun, and the project was creative. Also Ms. Redmond was very helpful during the process and helped my group a lot with using the tools.” said Bebe Deen
