Senior Natalie Davis is this week’s artist of the week. Ever since Natalie was young, she has been drawn to art–through her entire life, she has taken numerous art classes. Since her freshman year, Natalie has taken Studio Art, Advanced Studio Art, Painting and Drawing, Advanced Painting and Drawing, and this year, Natalie has taken up the challenge of taking AP Studio Art. When asked about her experience in AP Art, Natalie said “AP studio art is definitely a challenge but it’s rewarding to see my hard work pay off.”
Natalie has always enjoyed taking art classes. She said “It is the only class in my schedule where I have the freedom to do what I want–there are no rules and I can do whatever I think works. I get to create things on my own–all my work is original and 100% my own effort.”
Not only does Natalie work hard during school but she also works on her art pieces after school and during the weekends. She is often found after school in Mr. Mani’s art x-period, concentrating on her work. Friend and senior Heather Nieman said, “I always see Natalie at art x-period. She works really hard and it definitely pays off! All of her work is beautiful.”
While walking through the halls of Rye High School, Natalie’s work can be seen hung up on the walls. Friend and senior Brooke Alexander said, “I always see Natalie’s art and it’s amazing. She is so talented.”
